Job summary

Beach Shops in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Cook I for the Outpost Grill to handle preparation and service of foods for retail dining, working with student employees, and mentoring them to foster a learning environment.

Under the supervision of Cook II, you will follow SOPs, maintain food safety standards, and support smooth operation across shifts; applicants with fast-paced kitchen experience and a California Food Handler Card within 30 days are preferred.

Qualifications

• The employee must be 18 years of age or older.
• A high school diploma or high school equivalent is preferred.
• Two years of experience as a cook preparing food in a fast paced quick-serve restaurant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Comply with Long Beach Health Department and OSHA procedures and regulations.
• Ensure that a quality product is prepared and served in a timely manner.
• Follow menus and ensure proper handling, preparation, presentation, and quality of food products.
• Maintain proper storage temperatures and handling of foods.
