Job summary

The Dorchester Collection’s Beverly Hills Hotel is seeking a Cook-1 to join its luxury kitchen team. You will be preparing ingredients, supporting multiple stations, and helping deliver an extraordinary guest experience in a historic, iconic property.

Qualifications

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfil cleaning tasks occasionally.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Must have physical stamina to lift, carry, push and pull moderate amounts of weight up to 50lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work flexible schedules and various shifts, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, set-up, clean-up and break down workstation.
• Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Assist all culinary outlets as needed and work every station in the kitchen.
• Partner with Supervisor to achieve daily challenges and guide cook progression.
• Prepare and cook food to ensure guests receive the best experience.
• Accommodate dietary requests and create special dishes for occasions.
• Report and correct imperfections in the hotel in collaboration with others.
• Communicate with other departments to keep operations aligned.
