Job summary

Sodexo's Cook I position at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg in Bethlehem, PA offers flexible shifts and opportunities to grow in a fast-paced culinary environment. You will prepare, portion, and present hot and cold items for all meal periods while following Sodexo's safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, 0–2 years of experience, and the ability to read recipes and follow instructions.

Qualifications

High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
0–2 years of related work experience.
Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Good working knowledge of food preparation.
Familiarity with kitchen equipment.
Must read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

Prepare food in accordance with current federal, state and corporate standards to ensure high-quality service.
Follow recipes and product directions for soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other items.
Estimate food requirements and check production to plan supplies and equipment.
Significant walking or other mobility requirements.
Ability to stand for extended periods; shifts may exceed 8 hours.
Lift up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Attend shifts on time with regularity.
