Job summary

Penn Entertainment is seeking a kitchen professional to support a fine-dining operation in a fast-paced environment. You will prepare fruits, vegetables, and various menu items, while maintaining quality, safety, and waste control.

The role requires 18+ years of age, basic math skills, strong communication, and the ability to work well with team members and guests. Flexible scheduling and adherence to policies are also expected.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• HS Diploma or GED; culinary school or specialty training preferred.
• 2 years of experience preparing specialty menu items in a fine dining setting preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in basic math.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Professional, pleasant, confident, and well-groomed appearance.
• Works effectively with team members, other departments, and guests.
• Familiar with company policies and procedures.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits and vegetables for serving and store items.
• Grill, roast, steam, broil vegetables and pasta items.
• Prepare cold meats and seafood, slice and bread items.
• Prepare various menu items and garnish accordingly.
• Prepare dressings following provided recipes.
• Prepare toast, pancakes, and hour d’oeuvres (hot and cold).
• Dish up and garnish desserts; manage plating.
• Conserve waste and optimize food cost using byproducts.
• Operate small kitchen equipment (mixers, slicers, cutters).
• Provide courteous service to all staff and guests.
• Performs related duties as required.
