Georgia State University’s PantherDining team in Atlanta seeks a Cook I to prepare meals following daily prep sheets and recipes, ensuring quality and safety standards. The role requires standing for long periods, and flexibility to work nights or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, completing production sheets, and assisting with training new staff. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position at Atlanta Campus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and one year experience working in institutional quantity cooking.
  • Technical training in commercial food service (CFS) or child nutrition preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and controls product on lines.
  • Adheres to set guidelines, policies, and time schedules.
  • Prepares next shift for success (restocking, cleaning, sanitizer, utensils).
  • Utilizes LeanPath for all discarded food waste.
  • Accurately completes production sheets and service records.
  • Works stations in a clean, organized, and sanitized manner.
  • Utilizes FIFO inventory practices, correct product labeling, and storage guidelines.
  • Assists in maintaining food storage areas.
  • Assist in completing food production and service records.
  • Completes station checklists and special clean ups as assigned.
  • Participates in ongoing development and food safety training.
