Job summary

Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA, seeks a food service Cook to join the culinary team. You will assist with all aspects of food preparation, read recipes, and support both Front of House and Back of House operations. Interaction with kitchen staff and customers occurs regularly.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 2–3 years' related experience, and a SERV Safe certification is preferred. You will maintain safety, labeling, and inventory controls daily.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or Vocational School Diploma required.
• Two to three years of job-related experience.
• Certifications or licenses preferred: SERV Safe Certification.
• One or more year of work-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and follows daily prep sheets and recipes according to management and ensures food quality and safety requirements.
• Assist in adhering to and accurately completing food production and service records.
• Participates in ongoing development and food safety training for staff and assists with training and development of new employees.
• Keeps workstation clean, organized and sanitized, uses FIFO inventory practices and proper labeling/storage.
• Distributes daily recipes and production schedules and assists with recipe testing and development.
• Records leftovers of food items and stores them according to safety standards for future use.
• Monitors inventory and alerts supervisor when shortages occur; assists with monthly inventories.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
