Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; culinary degree preferred.
• 1 year cooking experience preferred; hotel kitchen experience helps.
• Ability to follow recipes and plate presentations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and garnishes all food orders according to menu specs.
• Prepares sauces, soups and hot entrees following recipes.
• Operates kitchen equipment safely and maintains cleanliness.
• Taste tests foods to ensure standards; coordinates with servers.
• Portions food into standard sizes and presents plates attractively.
• Keeps work areas, coolers and storage organized and sanitary.
• Returns unused items to proper storage; monitors rotation and temps.
• Assists in controlling food cost and minimizing waste.
