Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison's Wisconsin Union - Memorial Union - Strada & Lake View Lounge is hiring three cooks for back-of-house and limited customer service tasks. Positions run 11am–5pm, 4pm–10pm, and 12pm–6pm across the week, with assignments ending 12/16/2026.

Responsibilities include menu prep, kitchen prep, and guest interaction. Paid at $17.00 per hour with weekend differential of $0.80/hr and night differential $2.50/hr for 6pm–6am.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months of work experience in food service.
• High School Diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Trains and guides student workers
• Greets customers, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities
• Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas
• Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
• Performs routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook to order and specialty foods
