Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking three temporary cooks to work in the Lake View Lounge, handling back-of-house cooking and prep while also assisting with customer service like making pizzas and bowls and engaging with guests.

Positions will train student workers, ensure safety and cleanliness, and prepare routine and special dishes according to quality standards. Various shifts are available with weekend and night differentials.

Job Summary:

3 positions that will work in the Lake View Lounge back of house cooking menu items along with prep work and in the Strada will primarily be a cook but will also serve in customer service functions like preparing pizzas, pasta bowls, & interacting with guests. Performs a variety of food preparation activities and related tasks according to quality and safety standards in dining, venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve departmental food service goals.

Schedule:

• Weekly Schedule:
• Position 1: Mon – Fri 11am – 5pm
• Position 2: Wed – Sun 4pm – 10pm
• Position 3: Thu – Sun 12pm – 6pm

These positions are Temporary positions that will end on 12/16/2026.

Compensation:

• $17.00 per hour
• *Differential Weekend pay for work performed on Saturday and Sunday $.80 per hours is added.
• *Differential night pay, for work performed between 6pm-6am an addition $2.50 per hour added.
