Job summary

Bend of Cascadia LLC in Bend, Oregon, is seeking a dependable culinary teammate to prepare and serve meals for residents, families, and staff in a 60-bed skilled nursing facility. The role requires following recipes, safety standards, and serving meals on a timely basis.

The position is full-time with a Sunday–Wednesday schedule, 5:30 AM–1:30 PM (32 hours/week). Education: high school diploma preferred; Licenses: Food Handlers permit.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus, therapeutic diets, and individual resident preferences.
  • Follow standardized recipes, proper portions, food safety practices, and temperature requirements.
  • Prepare food that is tasty, appealing, and served on time.
  • Assist with meals, snacks, special events, and alternative menu items as needed.
  • Properly label, date, store, and rotate food and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and work area.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, equipment, and kitchen surfaces according to established procedures.
  • Monitor and record food, refrigerator/freezer, water, and sanitizer temperatures.
  • Assist with receiving and stocking food and supplies while helping minimize waste.
  • Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment and report any concerns promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary team and other departments.
  • Interact with residents, families, and visitors in a friendly, respectful, and positive manner.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and complete assigned duties on schedule.
  • Participate in required training and perform other duties as assigned.

We’re a 60-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in beautiful Bend, Oregon. We provide compassionate transitional and post-hospital care to help our residents regain their strength, independence, and confidence as they work toward returning home or transitioning to their next stage of care. FULL-TIME Position
