Elite Care at Oatfield Estates is seeking a skilled full-time Cook in Milwaukie, OR. You will plan and prepare meals from scratch, tailoring them to residents' taste and service plans while creating a welcoming kitchen environment.

The role emphasizes healthy, nutritious cooking, using on-site garden produce when possible, and supporting residents’ autonomy. Competitive hourly pay $20–$23 with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience cooking on a large scale.
• 6 months experience cooking in long-term care preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Pass a food service sanitation course.
• Food handler's card required.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and oversight of household meals.
• Prepare healthy, nutritious meals from scratch where possible.
• Maintain portions and report when residents eat less than usual.
• Utilize Elite Care garden produce when possible.
• Follow each resident’s service plan for nutrition and hydration.

Job Overview

The Cook's primary responsibility is to plan and prepare meals from scratch that are memorable, enjoyable, nutritious, and community-building experiences. As a cook with us, you will support residents and accommodate their individual tastes and service plans by engaging them in the meal planning and preparation process. You play an important role in establishing the kitchen as the heart of every home by creating a welcoming and supportive kitchen environment.

Compensation Range: $20 to $23 per hour (based on experience level)

Shift: Full-time, Friday-Monday, 7:30am-5:30pm

Location: 4444 SE Oatfield Hill Rd., Milwaukie, Oregon 97267

Job Responsibilities

• Preparation and oversight of household meals


• Prepare healthy, nutritious meals, from scratch whenever possible


• Maintain unit portions and report when a resident eats less than usual


• Utilize fruits and vegetables grown in the Elite Care gardens whenever possible


• Understand and follow each resident’s service plan as it relates to nutrition and hydration


• Support residents’ autonomy by allowing residents to do as much for themselves as possible
