We are seeking a dependable, experienced, and hardworking Cook to join our team. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing, and high-quality meals while following established menus, dietary requirements, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
- Ensure meals are prepared on time and served at the appropriate temperature.
- Follow special dietary requirements, food allergies, and texture modifications as directed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Properly store, label, date, and rotate food products.
- Monitor food inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies are needed.
- Minimize food waste while maintaining appropriate food quality and portions.
- Assist with meal service, including plating and serving meals as needed.
- Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and kitchen areas.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and storing food.
- Work cooperatively with dietary, housekeeping, caregiving, and other staff members.
- Provide courteous and respectful service to residents, guests, and coworkers.
- Assist with special events, holidays, and other meal-related functions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or dietary manager.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking or food-service experience preferred.
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, assisted living, or institutional food service is a plus.
- Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food-handling practices.
- Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary instructions.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Food-handler certification or ServSafe certification preferred, depending on applicable requirements.
Schedule
Full-Time: Approximately 40 hours per week.
The schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the facility.
Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry food supplies, equipment, and kitchen items.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, and pull as needed.
