Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is hiring a Cook for our hospital kitchen. You will prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals to patients, staff and visitors, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires 1-3 years of kitchen experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong English communication. Health facility cooking experience is preferred; certification in Food Safety and Sanitation within 1 year is required.

Responsibilities

• The Cook prepares, cooks and serves food for consumption by patients, staff, and visitors.

• Assists with lunch and dinner meal service as needed.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• AAS Culinary Degree.
• Health facilities cooking experience or health care nutrition knowledge.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

• Food Safety and Sanitation Certification within 1 years of entering position.
