Job Title: Cook

We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time COOK positions at Genentech, located at 600 East Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, CA 94080. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule: Full-time and part-time schedules available. Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm; Tuesday through Thursday, 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. More details will be provided upon interview.

Requirements: Previous culinary experience is preferred.

Summary: Prepares food according to federal, state, and corporate standards, ensuring quality food service at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares high-quality food items following standardized recipes and instructions.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery, ensuring correct portioning, temperature, and presentation.
• Uses established procedures during service and maintains records.
• Maintains cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas, following safe food-handling procedures.
• Operates and maintains kitchen equipment.
• Assists in production planning, record keeping, and ordering supplies.
• Reports maintenance needs or equipment issues immediately.
• Participates in safety and in-service meetings.
• Fosters good working relationships with coworkers, customers, and managers.
• Follows HACCP standards for food presentation and temperature control.
• Adheres to all safety policies, including the use of gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and proper lifting techniques.
