Orlando Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a full-time Cook to support meal service at our new state-of-the-art behavioral health facility in Apopka, FL. Under general direction, duties include preparing meals, following approved menus, and coordinating kitchen operations.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, two+ years of institutional food service experience, and preferably culinary training and ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• Two or more years' experience in food service role in preparing food for institutions.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Additional education or training in the culinary field preferred.
• ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Cook and prepare food according to approved menus.
• Direct activities of workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
• Clean and inspect equipment, kitchen appliances and work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation.
• Take inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Work with Food Service leadership or Dietitian to ensure menus are varied, nutritionally balanced and appetizing.
• Perform and coordinate food production, cleaning, maintenance, and inventory control activities.
• Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, quality standards, cost parameters, and appropriate regulatory requirements.

Located in Apopka, Florida, the newly built hospital will provide a comprehensive suite of behavioral health services to meet growing demands.

This hospital consolidates Orlando Health’s behavioral health services, streamlining and enhancing psychiatric care for the community.

Under general direction, our Cooks implement menus and coordinate food preparation and serve meals.

• Two or more years' experience in food service role in preparing food for institutions, such as school, hospital or cafeteria preferred.

Licenses/Designations/Certifications

• ServSafe Certification or similar food safety certification, where required by the state, facility.
