Job summary

Vitality Living is hiring a Cook at Traditions of Smyrna Community in Smyrna, TN. You will participate in menu reviews, prepare nutritious meals, and ensure proper food storage and labeling while maintaining a clean kitchen according to schedule.

The role requires at least two years of institutional or full-service restaurant cooking experience, a food handlers permit, and strong English communication skills. Equal opportunity employer with benefits and ongoing training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Two years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain food handlers permit and any other certifications as required by state or provincial regulations.
• Understand food safety procedures, sanitation, and storage techniques.
• Meet state health-related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and Daily Food Production Records for instructions.
• Prepare meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and attractive according to company menus.
• Adhere to proper procedures for covering, dating, labeling, and storing food promptly.
• Clean kitchen after meals according to cleaning schedule (areas, pots, pans, surfaces, walls, floors).
• Attend onboarding and annual training, in-services, and team meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef.
