Job summary

Hampton Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dynamic and talented Cook for full-time day shifts and weekends. This private behavioral health center provides advanced diagnostic and treatment services for adults, adolescents, and older adults in inpatient and outpatient programs.

Responsibilities include following recipes, operating kitchen equipment, tasting and planning production, and ensuring sanitation and diet accuracy.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• High school graduate or GED certification.
• Minimum of one year previous kitchen/cook experience preferred.

• Follows recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food items for consumption in eating establishments.
• Operates a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meat, poultry or fish for culinary use.
• Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, checks production, and keeps records to plan production requirements and requisitions supplies and equipment.
• Holds room service cooks accountable for sanitation, aesthetics of food, and diet/order accuracy.

We are looking for Full Time Cook to work day shifts and weekends. Some of the expected duties are:

• Follows recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food items for consumption in eating establishments
• Prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish for culinary use
• Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, check production, and keep records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisitions supplies and equipment
• Holds room service cooks accountable for sanitation, aesthetics of food, and diet/order accuracy.
