Job summary

Hampton Behavioral Health Center is seeking a dynamic Cook to join our team for full-time day shifts and weekends. The role involves preparing a variety of food items, following recipes, and maintaining high sanitation and food quality standards in a behavioral health setting.

• Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, and checks production and records to plan production needs.
• Ensures sanitation, aesthetics of food, and accuracy of dietary orders in room service.

We are looking for Full Time Cook to work day shifts and weekends. Some of the expected duties are:

• Follows recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food items for consumption in eating establishments
• Prepares foods by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish for culinary use
• Tastes products, reads menus, estimates food requirements, check production, and keep records in order to accurately plan production requirements and requisitions supplies and equipment
• Holds room service cooks accountable for sanitation, aesthetics of food, and diet/order accuracy.
