Job summary

Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire seeks a PRN Cook to assist in providing quality meals and nutritional services to patients and staff across inpatient and outpatient programs.

Responsibilities include preparing patient meals, keeping the cafeteria clean, catering to modified diets, and following safety standards. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient services in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Two (2) years’ experience in quantity cooking, preferred.
• Food Service Food Handler’s permit
• Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification; certifications may be obtained during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and delivery of patient meals, delivering food tray to units as needed.
• Ensure that the cafeteria and dining room remain clean and in adherence to all safety and health standards.
• Accurately prepare food for modified diets, consulting with Dietician as required
• Adhere to standards for food temperatures during cooking, serving and storage of leftovers.
