Job summary

Vitality Living Hearthwood at Athens is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our Athens-area community in Watkinsville, GA. You will prepare nutritious meals, follow menus, and maintain high food-safety standards in a resident-centered kitchen.

We value teamwork and ongoing training; prior institutional or full-service restaurant cooking is preferred, along with English communication and a valid food handler certificate. This is a full-time role with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Two years of institutional or full-service restaurant cooking experience.
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain food handlers permit and any other certifications as required by state or provincial regulations.
• Understand food safety procedures (e.g. temperature safety), sanitation of equipment measures, and storage techniques.
• Meet state health-related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and Daily Food Production Records for instructions.
• Prepare meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and attractive according to company menus.
• Adhere to procedures for dating, labeling, and storing food promptly.
• Clean kitchen after meals according to schedule, including prep and service areas, pots and pans, surfaces, walls and floors.
• Attend onboarding, annual training, in-services, and team meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef
