Job summary

Vitality Living Franklin is seeking a Cook to join our caring community in Franklin, TN. You will prepare nutritious meals, review menus, and help keep our kitchen compliant with safety standards.

The role requires at least 2 years of institutional or full-service restaurant cooking, English communication, and state certifications. We offer comprehensive benefits and a welcoming team.

Qualifications

• Two years of institutional or full-service restaurant cooking experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Maintain food handler permits and any required state certifications.
• Understand food safety procedures, sanitation, and storage techniques.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and Daily Food Production Records for instructions.
• Prepare meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and attractive according to company menus.
• Adhere to procedures for covering, dating, labeling, and storing food promptly.
• Clean kitchen after meals according to schedule (areas, pots, pans, surfaces, walls, floors).
• Attend onboarding and annual training, in-services, and team meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef.

As a Vitality Living Cook, you will impact lives by:

• Review of menus and Daily Food Production Records for instructions

• Adhere to proper procedures for covering, dating, labeling, and storing food promptly
• Clean kitchen after meals according to cleaning schedule, including preparation and service areas, pots and pans, kitchen surfaces, walls, and floors
• Attend and participate in onboarding and annual training, in-services, and team member meetings as requested
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Have two years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking
• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Maintain food handlers permit and any other certifications as required by state or provincial regulations
• Understand food safety procedures (e.g. temperature safety), sanitation of equipment measures, and storage techniques
• Meet state of provincial health-related requirements
