Job summary

Vitality Living is hiring a Cook for our Acclaim at Belmont Bay Community. The role involves preparing nutritious meals according to menus, reviewing production records, and ensuring proper food labeling and storage.

You’ll join a team that values individuality and a mission to positively impact residents’ lives. Requirements include at least 21 years of age, two years of institutional or full-service restaurant cooking experience, strong English communication, and current food handler

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Two years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Maintain a food handlers permit and any required certifications.
• Understand food safety procedures and proper storage techniques.
• Meet state health-related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and Daily Food Production Records for instructions.
• Prepare nutritious, appetizing meals according to company menus.
• Label, date, and store food properly.
• Clean kitchen areas after meals according to schedule.
• Attend onboarding, training, and team meetings as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef.

As a Vitality Living Cook, you will impact lives by:

• Review of menus and Daily Food Production Records for instructions
• Prepare meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and attractive according to company menus
• Adhere to proper procedures for covering, dating, labeling, and storing food promptly
• Clean kitchen after meals according to cleaning schedule, including preparation and service areas, pots and pans, kitchen surfaces, walls, and floors
• Attend and participate in onboarding and annual training, in-services, and team member meetings as requested
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef

• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Maintain food handlers permit and any other certifications as required by state or provincial regulations
• Understand food safety procedures (e.g. temperature safety), sanitation of equipment measures, and storage techniques
• Meet state of provincial health-related requirements
