An established industry player in healthcare is seeking a dedicated Cook to join their Food Services team. This role involves preparing a variety of meals in large quantities while adhering to safety and cleanliness standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hospital or long-term care setting and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff. You will play a vital role in ensuring residents receive nutritious and appealing meals, while also participating in ongoing training and supervision. Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean, and sanitary manner. Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities, following prepared menus and portion control guides. Prepare special diets accurately and record food temperatures. Prepare pureed foods and make food presentation appealing to residents. Work cooperatively with all departments and assist with serving meals. Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and maintain sanitizer solutions. Report resident care concerns to the Administrator or Director of Nurses. Participate in staff orientation and ongoing training. Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Visual acuity required.
Typically low to moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
