Cook - Full Time (Food Services)

Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean, and sanitary manner. Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities, following prepared menus and portion control guides. Prepare special diets accurately and record food temperatures. Prepare pureed foods and make food presentation appealing to residents. Work cooperatively with all departments and assist with serving meals. Ensure cleaning schedules are followed and maintain sanitizer solutions. Report resident care concerns to the Administrator or Director of Nurses. Participate in staff orientation and ongoing training. Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility.
  • Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
  • Effective communication skills to present information and respond to questions.
Certifications
  • Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate.
Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Visual acuity required.

Work Environment

Typically low to moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
