Job summary

Watercrest Senior Living in Moseley, VA is seeking a Cook/Culinary Associate for a full-time role in its culinary team. The candidate will prepare meals, serve residents, ensure adherence to dietary guidelines, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Two years of professional food service experience and SERV Safe certification are required; culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred. A strong emphasis on resident satisfaction and a hospitable dining experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Serves, prepares, and cleans up in accordance with nutritional guidelines and resident diets.
• Maintains proper use of cooking appliances and food handling standards.
• Assists in maintaining emergency food supplies and inventory.
• Communicates with culinary vendors and ensures dining room presence for resident satisfaction.
• Provides adaptive equipment for residents when necessary and presents food attractively and timely.
• Maintains clean, safe, and organized cooking areas and stores utensils properly.
• Pre-prepares meals for later in the day or for events as needed.
• Reports equipment or supply needs to the Executive Chef.

Watercrest Richmond is looking for a Cook/Culinary Associate to join their Culinary team! Bring your talents to the forefront as you provide a Watercrest Culinary Experience! Providing a variety of quality, fine dining recipes that enliven the senses of our residents, associates, and guests.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Servant Leadership directs all aspects of decision making
• Conducts meal preparation, service, and clean-up in accordance with nutritional guidelines, regulations and prescribed resident diets
• Knowledge of proper use of all cooking appliances
• Assist with maintaining emergency food supplies

• Reports to the Executive Chef any equipment and supplies that are needed
• Provide a high level of culinary customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere
• Maintain a safe, sanitary, clean, and organized cooking area
• Must be in company uniform and resident ready at all times
