Job summary

Vitality Living Elizabethtown is looking for a Cook to join our community. You will prepare meals according to menus, ensure nutrition and presentation, and keep the kitchen clean and organized for service.

We seek candidates with at least 2 years of institutional or full-service restaurant cooking, who are at least 21 years old, can communicate in English, and hold valid food-handling permits and health-related credentials. We offer a 401k and PRN opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Two years of experience in institutional or full-service restaurant cooking.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain food handlers permit and certifications as required by state regulations.
• Understand food safety procedures, sanitation, and proper storage techniques.
• Meet state health-related requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review menus and production records to follow instructions.
• Prepare nutritious, appetizing meals per company menus.
• Adhere to procedures for covering, dating, labeling, and storing food promptly.
• Clean kitchen after meals per cleaning schedule, including work areas, pots and pans, surfaces, walls and floors.
• Participate in onboarding and training sessions, and team meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef.

As a Vitality Living Cook, you will impact lives by:

• Review of menus and Daily Food Production Records for instructions
• Prepare meals that are nutritious, appetizing, and attractive according to company menus
• Adhere to proper procedures for covering, dating, labeling, and storing food promptly
• Clean kitchen after meals according to cleaning schedule, including preparation and service areas, pots and pans, kitchen surfaces, walls, and floors
• Attend and participate in onboarding and annual training, in-services, and team member meetings as requested
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Culinary Services Director or Sous Chef
