Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN, seeks a Cook for full-time first/second shift, with days varying and weekends/holidays rotation. The role produces meals for cafeteria, patients and catering, following menus and portions dictated by leadership.

The cook will maintain safety and sanitation, ensure quality and presentation, operate kitchen equipment, and assist in other areas as needed. High school diploma preferred; 1+ years in high-volume food production is desired.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in batch cooking and/or preparation preferred.
• 1+ years’ experience in high volume food production preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produces and prepares food according to menus, recipes and portions set by leadership.
• Maintains food safety, sanitation and quality standards during prep, service and cleanup.
• Operates applicable kitchen equipment and ensures proper use.
• Assists other staff to complete kitchen duties within time constraints.
• Supports other areas of operation as needed; develops safe, efficient, high‑quality production.
• Demonstrates strong cooking and knife skills.
