Job summary

Food City in Kentucky is seeking a friendly Food Service Associate to support our mission of Run the Best Store in Town. You will greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service while working as part of a flexible, team-oriented staff.

You will prepare and portion food for the Food Service department, slice meats and cheeses, operate fryers, keep work area clean, rotate stock, and help ensure accurate packaging and weights for self-service items. Cross-training across stations is common.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Food service experience a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service and support the company mission to Run the Best Store in Town.
• Prepare all food for the Food Service department per manual guidelines and maintain quality.
• Prepare grill orders and operate fryers as directed.
• Slice meats and cheeses and assist in proper rotation of products in coolers and freezers.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations; ensure correct codes and weights on self-service items.
• Assist in ordering and stocking supplies for daily operation and adherence to weights and measures regulations.
