Job summary

Food City in Prestonsburg, KY is hiring for a Food Service Associate to support the store mission with friendly, customer-first service. You will help prepare deli items, grill orders, slice meats/cheeses, and keep work areas clean and organized.

The role emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and cross-training across areas. On-site shifts and adherence to Food Safety guidelines are required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Food Service experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient, courteous customer service to support the store mission.
• Maintain a friendly, fun atmosphere through teamwork.
• Prepare all food for the Food Service department per manual guideline.
• Prepare and produce “Quality” food & products to meet or exceed customer and company expectations.
• Prepare grill orders and slice meats and cheeses.
• Assist in proper rotation of product in coolers and freezers and maintain code dates.
• Assist in ordering product and supplies for daily operation.
• Ensure packaged products for self-service have correct weights and ingredients.
• Cross-train in multiple areas with varying responsibilities.
