Job summary

Benedictine is seeking a Cook to prepare hot and cold foods for patients, residents, visitors, and staff across Benedictine communities in the region. The role involves operating and sanitizing equipment, following recipes, and ensuring portions meet diet restrictions.

You will travel as needed to Humboldt (St. Paul), White Bear Lake, and Regina (Hastings) and lead Culinary Services Aides in daily operations while upholding the Benedictine Mission and Core Values.

Qualifications

• Experience producing large quantities of food.
• Completion of an approved food safety sanitation course, or completion within the first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operates, cleans, and sanitizes foodservice equipment and work area.
• Prepares food following food safety guidelines, diet restrictions and standardized recipes.
• Serves food according to portion control guides and diet restrictions.
• Promotes the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company.
• Performs other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned.

Job description

Prepare both hot and cold food items for patients, residents, visitors and staff. Serve food, clean equipment and work area, and put stock away. Lead Culinary Services Aides in day-to-day operations and actively participate in all culinary training. This position will be required to travel and provide care at all Benedictine communities within the assigned region as needed/required.
