Job summary

Lake Region Healthcare in Elbow Lake, MN is seeking a Cook for 72 hours biweekly with early AM shifts and optional PMs until 7:30pm. Cross-training available across kitchen roles and weekend/holiday rotation.

The role requires preparing a variety of foods for patients and cafeteria guests, maintaining safety and sanitation, and collaborating with the Food Service team to deliver high quality meals.

Qualifications

• Education/Special Skills: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in healthcare or institutional cooking preferred.
• Must have basic food preparation skills.
• Must be able to handle food in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Must be able to adjust to changing production needs and work closely with a variety of people for extended periods of time.
• Successful completion of the pre-employment health screening process required.
• Must be able to attend the work site per schedule.

Responsibilities

Job Details: Job Location: Elbow Lake Medical Center - ELBOW LAKE, MN 56531, Position Type: 72 Hours Biweekly, Salary Range: $18.48 - $24.85 Hourly, Job Category: Food Service, The purpose of this position is to prepare meats, vegetables, soups, sauces, vegetables, baked goods, salads, etc. which are of good quality, safe, and nutritious for regular and modified diets. This position reports to the Food Service Coordinator. Each cook works cooperatively with other cooking positions, cafeteria staff, and production staff in providing high quality food for patients, cafeteria customers, and special functions in a positive environment. The incumbent completes the work procedures and priorities within the imposed time frame.

Hours/Shifts

72 hours biweekly, primarily early AM shifts with ability to work PM shifts until 7:30pm as needed. Willingness to be cross trained to other positions to assist as needed. Weekday shifts and weekend/holiday rotation.

Compensation

Wage Range: $18.48 - $24.85/hour. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.
