Job summary

Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, MN, is seeking a Food Service Assistant to deliver patient meals, wash dishes, serve the cafeteria, brew coffee, and assist with meetings on site. You will learn about diet orders and ensure meals align with dietary requirements while contributing to a clean, safe kitchen.

On-the-job training and ServSafe courses are provided, with opportunities to cross-train within the Nutrition Services Department for broader learning and growth.

Qualifications

• Education/Skills: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• ServSafe certification or MN Department of Health Food Manager's certificate preferred or willingness to complete.
• Six (6) months related experience preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Ability to interact with patients, physicians, employees, and guests.
• Must be able to attend the work site per schedule.
• Pre-employment health screening required.
• Able to handle multiple priorities calmly.

Responsibilities

Lake Region Healthcare Corporation - FERGUS FALLS, MN 56537, Position Type: 72 Hours Biweekly, Salary Range: $16.18 - $22.30 Hourly, Job Category: Food Service, As a Food Service Assistant your typical day may include delivering room service meals to patients, washing and sanitizing dishes, serving co-workers and visitors in the cafeteria, brewing Caribou coffee, or delivering meals to catered meetings on site. You will learn about diet orders and make sure patients' meals match their dietary requirements. You will contribute to a food-safe environment by helping with proper food storage, monitoring food temperatures, restocking supplies, and cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen.

We provide you with several days of on-the-job training, ServSafe food sanitation and food allergens courses, and plenty of ongoing support as you learn the details of your new job. Interested employees may cross-train in other areas of the department when opportunities arise.

Compensation
