JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining, setting up, food production, and quality control of all meat, fish, fowl, and other food items prepared on the front-line station.

(We are looking for Breakfast, Dinner, and Banquet Cooks)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Prepares daily preparation lists for production and follows recipes, employing math skills.
  2. Prepares broiled and sautéed items according to standard recipes and guest checks, ensuring product consistency; involves transporting heavy food items.
  3. Inspects, selects, and uses only high-quality food items for all menu preparations.
  4. Checks and maintains proper storage, portion control, especially for specific cuts of meat, to ensure quality.
  5. Keeps refrigeration, equipment, and work areas clean and compliant with health regulations.
  6. Maintains logs for cooling, heating, and temperature controls.
  7. Adheres to all company policies, safety, and security procedures.
  8. Knows fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  9. Uses protective equipment and reports unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  10. Provides a safe work environment by following safety protocols.
  11. Maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per team member standards.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned and assists kitchen personnel when needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Holds a current Food Handler Card.
  • Preferably has 3 years of cooking experience, especially with broiler cooking.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, and guest etiquette.
  • Good understanding of broiler and sauté cooking fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards and operation of kitchen equipment (stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.).
  • Basic math skills for recipes, measurements, requisitions, and portion sizes.
  • Basic English language skills for understanding inquiries and instructions.
  • Ability to interpret and apply written product labeling instructions for safe application in the hotel.
