The Cook is responsible for preparing food for facility use, assisting in menu planning, and maintaining daily meal counts, inventories, the menu planning book, and food orders. The role adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English and know basic math.
• 1 year of previous food service experience as a cook or in a Food Prep 1 position preferred.
• Children's Place and IMH only: Experience with the Federal School Lunch Program preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).

Responsibilities

The Cook responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Preparing and portioning food for patients, employees, and special functions.
• Performing various baking tasks.
• Ensuring proper cleaning and use of equipment, reporting repairs as needed, and maintaining sanitation standards.
• Following food preparation and storage guidelines set by the Oklahoma State Health Department.
• Children's Place and IMH Only: Documenting meals and snacks served daily in accordance with Federal School Lunch guidelines and reporting to the leader as assigned.
