The Cook is responsible for preparing food for facility use, assisting in planning menus, maintaining daily meal counts, inventories, menu planning books, and food orders. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on patient contact level.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and portions food for patients, employees, and special functions.
• Performs baking tasks.
• Ensures proper cleaning and use of equipment; reports repairs as needed.
• Maintains sanitation standards and follows food preparation and storage guidelines per Oklahoma State Health Department.
• Documents meals and snacks served daily, especially for Children's Place and IMH, in accordance with Federal School Lunch guidelines.

This role may involve physical demands such as handling knives, dealing with heat, cold, and chemicals, and may require respiratory fit testing. All applicants will be considered regardless of protected status.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math in English.
• Preferred: 1 year of food service or cook experience.
• Experience with the Federal School Lunch Program is a plus for Children's Place and IMH roles.
