Ebenezer is looking for aCook/Chefto join our Assisted Living team at Amira Choice Champlin Senior Living. This position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standard s of high quality care. Culinary position will p lat e food for optimal eye ap peal to entice food consumption by our residents in our Senior Living Community located in Champlin, MN.

This flexible schedule culinary services position includes;

  • Casual / on call. Help fill in for shifts ahead of time and for last minute needs
  • Days and early evenings
  • Weekends as needed
Responsibilities:
  • Handles and prepares food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards.
  • Ensure timely production and meal service is provided to residents
  • Set up line service
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use
  • Assists with special events
  • Assists Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned and directed

Required:

  • ServSafecertification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date
  • Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications
  • Must have good problem solving and time leadership skills
  • Good writtenand oral communication skills
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred:

  • Vocational/technical training/education/degree
  • High School Diploma/GEDpreferred
  • Cooking experience in a similar environment
  • Scratch cooking experience
