Job summary

BlueStar Resort & Golf is hiring a Cook 2 for its on-site kitchen team. The role focuses on food preparation, cooking, and serving under the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef.

You will master a station, ensure high service standards, and maintain sanitation across shifts in a fast-paced environment. The position requires at least two years of commercial kitchen cooking experience, a current Food Handlers card, and the ability to read safety instructions, follow recipes, and work flexible hours

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred; equivalent education/experience acceptable.
• Minimum two years cooking experience in a commercial kitchen.
• Current Food Handlers card.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.
• Ability to think and decide with sound judgment; strong initiative and teamwork.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Master one kitchen station; take responsibility for personal decisions.
• Ensure superior service standards for guests and staff.
• Proactively address guest or employee issues and resolve challenges quickly.
• Follow daily cleaning schedules to maintain a sanitary kitchen.
• Read and follow cooking instructions; read recipes and portions accurately.
• Prepare ingredients; slice, chop, and assemble dishes per recipes.
• Cook using various methods; manage oven, broiler, grill, and steam kettles.
• Carve, portion, garnish, and plate meals to fill orders.
• Support other kitchen staff as needed.
