About This Position

The Cook is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing a variety of food items following work instructions, menus, and food safety procedures. The Cook demonstrates experience in preparing hot and cold foods, all standardized knife cuts, and manages multiple tasks while staying calm under pressure. The ability to follow recipes, manage stations, and communicate effectively with team members is essential.

Core Responsibilities

  • Review Daily Prep List and complete opening/closing checklists
  • Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment
  • Use kitchen utensils safely, including knives
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • Follow portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen policies
  • Properly handle, store, label, and rotate products
  • Stock and maintain food levels at line stations
  • Understand menu items and prep ingredients accordingly
  • Apply various cooking methods and handle hot/cold conditions
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for extended periods
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; must be at least 21 years old
  • At least 1 year of relevant cooking experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Experience in cafeteria or large-volume food service is a plus
  • Knowledge of safety procedures in food environments
