Job description

Summary

Full‑time position including weekend and holiday rotation. The Cook prepares hot foods for our wonderful residents’ meals, daily specials, and special events, ensuring that temperatures, appearance, portion control, and quality meet state and federal guidelines.

• Prepares bulk foods for cooking.
• Prepares foods on commercial kitchen equipment, using baking, frying, sautéing, boiling, and grilling with standardized recipes.
• Assists with and prepares catering items on a regular basis.
• Determines quantity of food items to prepare by following production sheets and menus.
• Maintains regular cleaning of production area and kitchen equipment.
• Ensures that temperatures, appearance, portion control, and quality are in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred experience with short‑order cooking in a fast‑paced environment.
• Knowledge of food production, ability to cook in a commercial kitchen, and awareness of food safety and sanitation requirements.
• ServSafe certification or equivalent food service sanitation certification preferred.
