The Cook is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all patients and guests, maintaining a kitchen environment compliant with state and federal regulations, and providing quality food and presentation to all guests and patients. They must be able to open and close the kitchen properly. The role involves overseeing and demonstrating the preparation of hot and cold foods for patients, residents, retail, catering, and special events, ensuring recipe and portion compliance to meet nutritional needs. The Cook monitors food temperature standards and HACCP requirements. They also ensure proper handling of inventories, including storage, rotation, covering, labeling, and dating, to reduce waste and optimize the budget.
