The Neighborhood at Sheffield is seeking Cooks to join their team!

The Cook reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director.

Position: Cook

Schedule: Mon-Fri; Every other weekend required

Purpose

The Cook is responsible for all food preparation to ensure that food meets or exceeds quality, quantity, and service standards for the community. This includes managing food production in the absence of the Lead Cook or Food and Beverage Director, handling all foods in accordance with sanitary procedures, and complying with all relevant regulations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Preparation and Food Service
  • Prepare and serve meals, maintain sanitation, keep accurate records, receive and rotate inventory, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Follow posted menus and use approved recipes to prepare food promptly.
  • Adhere to production sheets and instructions.
  • Prepare special dietary needs and texture-modified foods as directed.
  • Organize work to meet production and service requirements.
  • Monitor food temperature, taste, and quality, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions and cleanliness of work areas.
  • Follow all policies regarding food handling and maintain hygiene standards.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment according to Food Safety Standards.
Record Keeping/Resident Services
  • Maintain records for service standards and regulatory compliance, including equipment and food temperatures, production quantities, and taste evaluations.
  • Protect resident confidentiality.
  • Review Resident Diet Book and related documentation.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Culinary training preferred.
  • At least 1 year of related experience, including food prep, menu items, and therapeutic diets.
  • Current SERV Safe certification or willingness to obtain it.
