Job summary

Bayview Seattle is seeking a Line Cook to prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for residents, guests and staff in our Food Services department. Working hours 10:30am–7pm with rotating weekends; salary $26.50 per hour DOE; non-exempt.

The role requires experience in health care food service, knowledge of therapeutic diets and HACCP guidelines; must hold WA Food Handler’s permit and be able to read/write English.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of sanitary practices and HACCP guidelines.
  • Ability to read and write English with accuracy.
  • Holds Washington State Food Handler’s permit.

Responsibilities

  • Produce nutritious, high quality food for residents, guests and staff in accordance with menus and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure meals are served with appealing appearance, proper temperature and taste.
  • Prepare meals in a timely manner and in adequate quantity.

JOB TITLE: Line Cook
DEPARTMENT: Food Services
REPORTS TO: Executive Chef
STATUS: Full-Time
SCHEDULE: 10:30am - 7pm - Rotating Schedule (includes weekends)
SALARY: $26.50 + DOE. Non-Exempt/Hourly

This person is responsible for producing nutritious, high quality food in accordance with specified menus, recipes, techniques, laws, regulations, and safety guidelines. You would assure food is served to residents, guests and staff with an appealing appearance, palatable temperature, savory aroma, and delicious taste. You would ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner and in adequate quantity.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and Skill
  • One or more years of experience working in a Food Service capacity in a health care facility and one or more years cooking food.
  • Knowledgeable of therapeutic diets.
  • Knowledgeable of sanitary practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) guidelines.
  • Ability to read and write English with accuracy.
  • Holds current State of Washington Food Handler’s permit.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in all of the categories mentioned as Specific Duties and Responsibilities.
