Job summary

Patriots Landing is seeking a Cook to join our assisted living community in Bellevue, WA. You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals that support residents' health and happiness, and you will have the opportunity to grow your culinary skills in a supportive team environment.

This full-time role requires a Washington State Food Handler’s Permit, CPR/First Aid, and at least 1 year of kitchen experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a friendly, family-like workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Washington State Food Handler’s Permit required (can obtain when hired).
• CPR/First Aid required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a food service setting.
• Ability to read recipes and follow instructions; must communicate in English.
• Willingness to learn and work well with a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of fresh meals based on daily menus and dietary needs of residents.
• Interact with residents to gather feedback and adjust meals as directed by the Food Service Director.
• Keep kitchen clean, organized and fully stocked.
• Properly store, label and rotate food to maintain quality and safety.
• Maintain temperature controls and adhere to safety standards.
• Adhere to sanitary practices and support teammates to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
• Take pride in every plate served to make mealtime a highlight for residents.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Prepare a variety of fresh meals based on daily menus and the dietary needs of residents.
• Interact with residents on a daily basis to ascertain their views, suggestions and concerns on meals served at the direction of Food Service Director.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized and fully stocked.
• Properly store, label and rotate food to maintain quality and safety standards
• Maintain and record proper temperature controls, food storage and food rotation.
• Adhere to safety and sanitary practices.
• Support teammates to keep the kitchen running effective and positively.
• Take pride in every plate that is sent out to ensure mealtime is a highlight for residents.

Requirements

• Obtain and maintain a Washington State Food Handler’s Permit.
• Must be dependable
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
• Must be in good health and physically/mentally capable of performing assigned tasks
• Must possess knowledge of safe sanitation practices, safety practices and special diets
• Must be able to work in Bellevue, WA
• At least 1 year of experience working in a food service setting.
• Ability to follow recipes, read instructions and communicate in English
• Have a willingness to learn and a positive attitude working with a team.
