Job summary

Chateau Retirement Communities is seeking a Cook for Chateau at Valley Center in Renton, WA 98055. This full-time role offers a competitive hourly wage of $23.00 - $27.00 and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with employer match.

You will prepare quality meals for residents, follow dietary guidelines, read orders, maintain food safety, and support catering as needed. Requirements include a high school diploma, experience with the elderly preferred, a valid food

Qualifications

• Prepare quality food with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and comprehend order tickets, menus, and recipes in English.
• Pass a Department of Social and Health Services background check; some negative actions can be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quality food for residents.
• Follow state regulations related to cleanliness, food storage guidelines, and equipment management.
• Be aware of special dietary menu items and prepare them as needed.
• Assist in preparations for catering or special events when needed.
• Assist with receiving and putting away incoming orders when needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Culinary Services Director.

Some benefits require employee to work 30 or more hours per week and/or be over the age of 21

Wage: $23 - $27 per hour

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday: Tuesday 1030am-630pm, Wednesday & Thursday 630am-3pm, Friday & Saturday 1030am-630pm.

A Day in the Life

Requirements

• High School Diploma or (equivalent combination of education experience)
• Previous experience working with the elderly preferred
• Ability to read and comprehend order tickets, menus, and recipes in English
• Valid food handler's permit
• Pass a Department of Social and Health Services background check (some negative actions can be acceptable)
