Qualifications

Shift is 11 am to 7 pm
Prep/Line Cook

At Cedarbrook Senior Living, we work hard every day to find out what “Celebrating Life Every Day!” means to our residents and their families, then we help them achieve these goals.

We are seeking a full-time Line/Prep Cook to provide a "restaurant style" experience for our residents during the afternoon shift.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform all aspects of meal preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Keep cooking stations stocked, use batch cooking methods, and maintain documented time/temperature logs.
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by the executive chef.
  • Restock items as needed throughout the shift and complete order sheets to maintain appropriate supplies and inventory.
Qualifications:
  • Understanding and knowledge of proper equipment use and maintenance.
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, coolers, freezers, and storage areas.
  • Assist with washing pots, pans, and other projects with the dishwasher.
  • Willing and able to participate in daily lineup meetings.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow directions.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of previous cook experience or 3 years of prep cook experience.
  • Solid understanding of professional cooking and knife skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Professional communication skills, including verbal and listening skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to problem-solve.
