Description

The Line Cook works with a team to provide excellent, delicious, and consistently prepared food in a fast-paced environment. The Line Cook/Prep Cook is able to proficiently cook recipes at each of five stations as well as prep all ingredients. Food safety and ServSafe procedures are of the utmost importance, and each Line Cook is very familiar with these regulations. This team member maintains a positive attitude during stressful, busy kitchen shifts and assists fellow line cooks and the Kitchen Manager as needed. Great service, attitude, and teamwork are key traits of this employee.

Job Activities

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Clean up station and kitchen
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure food quality and timely delivery
• Comply with nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
• Complete Temperature Logs and Checklists for cleaning and maintenance
• Participate in all kitchen roles as required, including dishwashing when needed

Requirements

• Proven cooking experience, including as a line chef/prep cook
• Familiarity with kitchen terminology
• Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, procedures, and equipment
• Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
• Knowledge of industry best practices
• Willingness to pursue ServSafe certification is a plus
