Job summary

Parkhousehealth in Montgomery County, Norristown, PA, is hiring a compassionate cook for our nursing home kitchen. The shift runs 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with full-time and part-time positions and alternating weekends and holidays.

You will prepare food according to standardized recipes, portion meals accurately, monitor temperature, and ensure the meals are tasty and visually appealing. You’ll also clean the kitchen and maintain safe handling practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ServSafe Certification preferred or will become ServSafe certified after hired.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

• Prepares food as assigned according to standardized recipes to provide residents with consistently accurate, tasteful, and cost-effective meals.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlines standards, ensuring that the food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty; tastes all prepared food items for quality control.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintains standards of cleanliness; stores or discards excess food per safe food handling procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.

• Ability to lift/carry a maximum of fifty pounds, push/pull a maximum of fifty pounds, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
