Job summary

Focus Health Network in Montgomery County is seeking a compassionate cook for our nursing home kitchen. Join a friendly team creating nutritious, home-style meals for residents. Shift available: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with alternating weekends and holidays.

Full-time and part-time positions offered. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; ServSafe certification preferred or to be obtained after hire; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals according to recipes to provide nutritious, tasty, and cost-effective options for residents.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery with correct portions, ensuring proper temperature and presentation; conducts quality checks on all items.
• Cleans and maintains kitchen area, adheres to safe food-handling procedures, and stores or discards excess food as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Shift Available:

10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Cook Key Duties

• Prepares food as assigned according to standardized recipes to provide resident with consistently accurate, tasteful, and cost-effective meals.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlines standards, ensuring that the food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared food items for quality control.
• Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintain standards of cleanliness. Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food- handling procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as they become required.

Cook Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• ServSafe Certification preferred or will become ServSafe certified after hired.
• Ability to lift/carry a maximum of fifty pounds, push/pull a maximum of fifty pounds, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
