Job summary

Savant Senior Living in Santa Monica, CA is seeking a Cook to provide appealing, nutritious meals for residents and guests. Reporting to the Director of Dining Services, you will prepare heart-healthy and fresh meals in a team-focused kitchen.

Requirements include a high school diploma, at least two years of food prep experience in a care facility or similar setting, English proficiency, and the ability to read recipes and follow instructions. First Aid certification may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least two years’ experience with food preparation, purchasing, safety, sanitation, and menu planning in a healthcare facility or institution.
• Speak, read, and understand English; read and follow recipes and menus.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and ability to work with the elderly.
• First Aid Certification may be required.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Director of Dining Services, the Cook is responsible for providing & preparing appealing, nutritious, heart-healthy, tasteful and fresh meals for residents, prospective residents, families and guests

Must haves:

• This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent certificate
• At least two years’ experience with food preparation, food purchasing, kitchen safety sanitation, and menu preparation in a restaurant, health care facility, or institution.
• Speak, read, and understand the English language.
• Read and follow instructions, recipe books, menus, and food labels correctly.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to work well with all people, particularly the elderly.
• May be required to hold valid First Aid Certification.

Pay rate $23.00-$25.50 per hour
