Job summary

Crown Heights Center for Nursing and Rehab in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Cook to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team. You will prepare meals, ensure dietary restrictions are followed, and maintain safety and sanitation standards.

The role involves monitoring temperatures, coordinating with Nursing Services on diet changes, and assisting with inventory and supply management to support residents’ comfort and well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Knowledge of dietary procedures.
• COVID-19 Vaccination.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in quantities according to the menu, recipe, and number of persons to be served
• Comply with state, federal, and all other applicable health care, safety, and sanitation standards
• Monitor and record temperatures in refrigerators and freezers
• Inspect special dietary restrictions of residents to assure that the correct diet is served to residents
• Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services
• Ensure that food and supplies for meals are readily available
• Assist in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, etc. as necessary

Cook Responsibilities
