Job summary

Cypress Garden Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a reliable and skilled Cook to join our dietary team in Queens, NY. The role demands quick, detail-oriented cooking in a healthcare setting and a commitment to safe food handling.

The position offers a 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM shift with full-time and part-time options and a pay rate of $24.00 per hour, reflecting the fast-paced nature of hospital-style meal service. Healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year cooking experience in a skilled nursing facility or hospital setting (preferred).
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of proper food handling techniques.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of safe food temperatures and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
• Experience preparing meals in large quantities.
